- Your hog slats are wearing only on the top side with no cracks, exposed rebar, or exposed aggregate elsewhere
- Your building is fifteen to twenty-five years old and hog slats are showing signs of deterioration
- Your feeder slats are showing excessive signs of wear such as horizontal cracks or exposed rebar
